It is not bad at all, almost boring. It's a serious procedure, rather lengthy (almost 3.5 hours), but virtually painless.

I had the left half of my mouth done last week, and my problem so far has been the post op diet. I know this sounds trivial, and I didn't think days of liquid/soft diet would be an issue, but it's has been. (I hope Dr. Finley is not reading these comments but I have been kind of cheating here and there.)

I recommend reading the after treatment instructions in advance and getting prepared.

Aside from that the procedure itself was pretty straight forward, no blood, no cuts, and no pain. On the scale of 1-10, (1 being no pain, and 10 being torture) I would say the pain level was a 2 or a 3 and that includes the Novocain shots.

After the procedure I took an Aleve that evening more just for my stiff back and neck from sitting there for so long (and being so tense) more than anything else, and nothing else since.

I hope my comments were helpful and you wouldn't be as afraid and as tense as I was.

Tony
